Hampton Bay Lonestar Fan

It is a known fact that larger ceiling fans are better at keeping big rooms cool. Fans such as the Lonestar from Hampton Bay deliver on this kind of functionality. To move air quickly, these fans need a combination of large blades and the proper blade pitch. The pitch of a blade determines how aggressive its “attack” angle is to the air. The Lonestar may be powerful, but it does not mean that it lacks finesse. The fan has three different speeds for the blades, as well as a reversible mode.

Each of the distressed blades is made from dark distressed oak, which has a natural look. The wood brings the mechanical aspect of the fan back down to earth. The dark colored metal base is designed to have a Southwestern feel, sporting accented copper finishes and uniquely shaped blade arms. A downrod is included in case you want to mount the fan to a vaulted ceiling. You can also mount the fan flush by leaving out the downrod. This functionality is featured on multiple Hampton Bay ceiling fans.

The decorative bowl frosted glass cover for the three light bulbs truly stands out. The frosted glass masks the presence of the bulbs while maintaining the look of the fan. This frosted cover sits below the blades and may be removed for maintenance. Above the blades is a set of panes which run around the whole fan for all to see. The hexagonal glass design is purely for decoration and does not light up.

As with most fans which feature a high degree of physical beauty, the Lonestar is designed for indoor use only. Using it outdoors may cause the blades to buckle and warp, and risk electrical shortages caused by humidity. Users can control the fan speed and light using the pull chains which hang below the fan. These chains can be extended for tall ceiling reach.
